Some digital painting practice from May last year. (Just relocating it from where I had originally posted it.)
Merry Christmas, everyone! Have a gift of fanart.
(The best solution to the problem of how to draw the Fallen London protagonist: don’t.)
A warm-up sketch that I thought turned out especially nice. Everything’s drawn as alpha masks on fill layers, so I could play around with color choices.
Some rough alien concept design sketches. To simplify things, I challenged myself to work within a limited palette using this one from Chromaa. The only deviations are, of course, white and black.
Unboxing the NeoLucida! I’ve been really anticipating this—maybe my most exciting new tool yet.
An old color study/warmup from earlier this year. Just some playing around with color and figuring out the new brushes and brush behaviors in CS6.
The Airtight Garage posted some fantastic scans of Icaro a few days ago, and they were at the top of my mind when I did my warmup doodle this morning.
(I had been planning to never post warmups unless they were fantastic, but this blog is looking a little sparse.)
A bit of pose-drawing practice.
Just a quick watercolor sketch portrait.
